TVXQ
TVXQ!, an acronym for Tong Vfang Xien Qi , is a quintet South Korean boy band formed under SM Entertainment in 2003, and later debuted in Japan under Avex Trax in 2005. Beginning as a dance and acappella group, TVXQ's sound now blends together pop, R&B and dance with occasional heavier, rockier elements to create an easily marketable style, along with their trademark ballads and acappella versions of their songs.
Since debut, TVXQ has since been one of the most popular groups in Asia, gaining great popularity in South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, and other East Asian countries.
Super Junior
Super Junior is a 13 member boyband from South Korea, produced by SM Entertainment, one of Korea's largest producers of pop music. Super Junior debuted in November of 2005 with 12 members, one of which, Hankyung (also known as Hangeng), is actually Chinese. Their 13th member, Kyuhyun, was added to the group in May of 2006.
Since Super Junior's debut in South Korea, the group endeavored to share an equal share of influence across Asia. The group has paid many visits to countries outside of their homeland to promote their music, especially to China and Thailand.
BoA
Boa Kwon commonly known by her stage name BoA, is a multilingual Korean singer. She has been active in both South Korea and Japan. Aside from her native Korean, BoA also speaks Japanese and conversational English. She has also released a number of Chinese songs, although she is not able to speak the language itself.
BoA has achieved great commercial success, particularly in South Korea and Japan where she has claimed four number one studio albums in Korea and six in Japan. The release of The Face made BoA only one of two artists in J-pop history to top the Oricon Weekly Album Charts six consecutive times, with the other being Ayumi Hamasaki who currently has eight consecutive number one albums.
Cheon Sang Ji Hee The Grace
Cheon Sang Ji Hee The Grace is a four member girlband from South Korea. Produced by SM Entertainment and debuting in 2005, they were marketed as being the female version of Dong Bang Shin Ki, with their sound being a mix of pop, R&B, dance and acapella. Cheon Sang Ji Hee The Grace are popular not only in Korea but also in Japan and China.
Zhang Li Yin
Zhang Li Yin (also known as Jang Ri In) is one of SM Entertainment's 2006 debut female performers. SM Entertainment intended to use her to break into the Chinese music market, but at the moment she is only active in Korea.
So Nyuh Shi Dae
So Nyuh Shi Dae is an SM Entertainment girl-group made up of nine members. The formation of such a large group lead to immediate comparisons to their male counterparts, Super Junior. The group were formed with the aim of becoming popular all across Asia and possibly even the world. With this in mind, members were chosen who could speak Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese.
SHINee
SHINee is a five-member boy band formed by SM Entertainment in 2008. The group debuted on May 25, 2008 on SBS Popular Songs with the single. The group consists of members Onew, Jonghyun, Taemin, Minho, and Key. SHINee's official fan colour is pearlescent sky blue.
